Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a BS in Elementary Education and spent five years teaching in the public school system. She began writing her preschool curriculum after participating in a grant with Fordham University in New York, focusing on a collaborative approach to teaching. She spent a year internship as an early childhood reading specialist at Rose Park Elementary, followed by a teaching position at Butler Elementary.
